As you well know, our HomeTown ThrowDown # 20 is coming up at the end of December. One of the things we hear all too often from longtime supporters about this event is, “I’d love to catch a ThrowDown show, but my Holiday is already too jam-packed with seasonal traditions and commitments, making it impossible for me to attend at that time of year.” The good people (our longtime friends) at Samuel Adams Boston Beer Company have come up with a solution. They have generously agreed to fold us into their Octoberfest celebration and help us get our HomeTown ThrowDown festivities started early this year! On Friday, Oct. 27, we will be performing at Sam Adams Octoberfest at the World Trade Center in Boston.
Tickets can be purchased here.
Think of it this way; Night # 1 of our multi-show event is in October this year.  The other shows will be announced soon.

We’re super excited to announce some special shows to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Let’s Face It.” Dicky Barrett says “It was pivotal time in our lives and in the BossToneS history. It’s a special collection of songs to me which probably goes without saying. Twenty years, where has the time gone?” Joe Gittleman adds “We hope you’ll join us for this monumental birthday party of sorts. In addition to playing the Let’s Face It Album we’ll dig in and deliver some deep cuts as well our favorite hits and misses from over the years.”

Last but certainly not least, we are excited to tell you about a limited edition 7” single we will be releasing in the new year – our version of the song “What the World Needs Now Is Love” (produced by Lawrence Katz and the Bosstones and mixed by Paul Kolderie) featuring an unreleased original BossToneS song “I Won’t Go Out Like That” as the B-side. “What the World Needs Now Is Love” was originally released in 1965 with lyrics by Hal David and music composed by Burt Bacharach. “It’s a message and/or a reminder that we would like to share with the world for the holidays during these seemingly difficult and trying times. The song doesn’t take a side but it definitely takes a stance.” – says frontman Dicky Barrett

As our gift to thank you for your support we would like to give you a free download of the song.

Please feel free to share!

2016_claddaghOur annual Hometown Throwdown VIP Fundraiser will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29 in The Foundation Room at House of Blues. This year the beneficiary will be The Claddagh Fund. The Claddagh Fund is the official charity of the Dropkick Murphys established to leverage the generosity of the fans to raise money for the most vulnerable populations in our community. They focus their support on children’s and veterans’ organizations and providing grants to individuals who are in need of addiction recovery services.

As you may know, MMB has a long history with Dropkick Murphys and we are very proud to be supporting this great organization.

We are selling a very limited amount of tickets to this event available through this link beginning at 10am EST on  Friday, Dec. 23.

Limit 2 per person. Fundraiser tickets are not good for admission to the show at House of Blues.

In addition to a “Meet & Greet” with the band, there will also be an art exhibition set up in the Foundation Room showcasing the amazing art of San Diego based artist Nan Coffey Nan created the brilliant artwork featured in this year’s Throwdown poster.

Our fundraiser sponsors this year have contributed some amazing packages that will be raffled with all proceeds going to the Claddagh Fund.
